Hello lads & lassies. We have managed another week north to now reach Moffat over into  Scotland.  It has been a fascinating time moving from England up the Welsh border then up and over the Yorkshire moors in strong cross-winds. Exposed heather-clad fells with steep climbs, nervous descents, weasel, partridges and almost snow!  Bikes and bodies still together with very welcome baths each night at pubs or B&b's. A welcome rest day tomorrow  before re-commencing the normal 90-100 km. Daily ride. Trying local fayre and drinks each stop so over to an ale n pie for dinner with numerous dogs around us in the Scottish public. More next week when closer to the finish line at john o'groups. Cheers Ian

Here I am in london about to embark on a three and half week cycling adventure from lands end cornwall to john o'grouts at the top of Scotland.   Five participants with backup , this 1600 km. ( 1000 mile) trip will test us both physically as well as behaviorally - staying in pubs , b & bs, checking heritage sites and generally having a great time.  I hope to provide weekly updates so cheers from over here. Ian stevenson.

Hello tipsters downunder. My team of six aussies are now five days into our cycle adventure from lands end to john o'grouts at top of Scotland.  Today's rest day in Chepstow wales is a welcome reprieve from some challenging times across hilly slopes in Cornwall and devon.  Fabulous landscapes ,  quaint country lanes, pubs etc. Hit storms over the river Severn bridge yesterday - a 3.2 km stretch before reaching wales.  Body and bike still functioning so 18 more days may be achievable!  Hope to provide updates as we move north up the welsh border region over the next week. We've turned the corner.  Cheers ian
