We will be 2 weeks in Norway and Sweden, travelling by train. Then 2 weeks on a boat from St Petersburg to Moscow. Hopefully the fires are out and the air has cleaned by then.

News from Calgary

The past few months have been very busy for us and I am only now catching up on all the photos.  

Our vacation in Santorini in June was great – the photos attached provide some idea of the visual spectacular that it is . . . really doesn’t quite capture the panorama and atmosphere of Oia where we stayed.  It’s a lovely place for a great vacation!.  

Joanna visited in July for the Calgary Stampede and it was wonderful to see her again – attached are a few photos of us in our Stampede gear.  We also took Joanna to the Columbia Icefields, which are near Lake Louise and feature a huge glacier that is 300 metres thick in places.  We had a very special time together and were naturally sorry to see her return to Perth.  

Lastly, we have a new addition to the family.  Last year we lost one of our two Poodles – Lucy, and were down to Bella.  We’re sure Bella enjoyed being the centre of attention but we had become used to having a pair so started looking earlier this year.  After much searching, we found a Poodle breeder in nearby Bragg Creek and now have a 10 week old white Poodle puppy.  She is called Suzie and is cute as can be.

Comments: sorry about last weeks tips we were in London before we realised we were a day two late with the 9 hr time difference.  We are currently on the Isle of Skye sending these.  Have been to York, Edinburgh, Loch Ness, going on to Glasgow tomorrow and then off to Ireland.

Dad and Jan invited Marg & I to join them in a "high tea" at Rupertswood on Sunday.  You needed a step ladder to get to the sweet cakes at the top of the table while many champers slipped down smoothly.

A great way to spend Sunday afternoon.
