What is special in 2016

Batemans Bay

We had the privilege to get the opportunity to provide a support team to the 2016 Batemans Bay Ironman (woman) event.  The event started with Mel driving all the way from Melbourne to Canberra to pick Marg & Dave up from the airport (return from Noosa) and then off to Batemans Bay together.
First stop was the penthouse at Bayview Apartments.  What a view combined with the surprise for Steph and her racing buddy Richelle.
Sunday morning and the race was on.  To be expected the weather was perfect.

Last seen heading for Moruya
After 4 hours on the bike and I understand a hill from hell (twice encountered) Steph ended up pounding the pavement.  Her cheer squad helped at various points along the course.  They seemed more intent in getting their selfies organised with the ironwoman!
After nearly 7 hours Steph ran (with vigor and elation) through the finish line.

One of the most exhausting moments of the long day was avoiding the cork from the Moet Chandon as it bounced of the ceiling

Noosa calling

What a pleasant way to spend a week.  The Werner's and Glenn's have joined forces in Noosa to keep the SE Qld economy on the move.  It is always hard to leave the 30 degrees behind.
For the Glenn's it started with a few days in Coolum while the Werner's started with a night back in Brisbane.

It was wonderful to see how the city has benefited from the Expo 88 site
But Noosa was the prime focus.  For some of us it was simply an opportunity to chill out.  For Norm it represented an opportunity to try out the great 50m outdoor pool and tackle many of the walking paths and hills as part of his fitness regime while the rest of us enjoyed the icecreams and lazy summer weather around the pool.
The obligatory trip to Eumundi market was a successful day as well as Montville and Mary Cairncross Reserve in Maleny.

We also went back to the Noosa Botanical Gardens to check out the amazing rainforest
Amongst the many highlights was the sunset cruise around the canals of Noosa checking out the mega rich holiday homes and rental that back on to the waterways.  Looks a pretty good lifestyle.

As they say in the Schick ad...the Glenn's liked the product so much, they bought the company.  Glenn's are now proud owners in Club Noosa.  Here they are surveying their new QLD holiday destination.
